Aluminum Unibody Design

Dell has always been known for its stylish designs and user-friendly features, the Dell XPS 15 9550 is no exception. The entire body features a black aluminum unibody design that feels premium and sturdy to hold.

It weighs around 1.8 kilograms and measures 16mm thick at the rear end where the ports and connectors are located. It’s like carrying a thin notebook in your hands since it is lightweight and easier to carry anywhere you go. Dell has managed to fit such powerful hardware inside such a thin yet durable design which shows how much they value aesthetics as well as functionality.

Performance

The Dell XPS 15 9550 comes with an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, clocked at 2.8 GHz which can be boosted up to 3.8 GHz if needed thanks to its built-in Turbo Boost technology. The Intel Core i7-7700HQ is a 7th generation processor from Intel that provides faster processing speeds, better graphics performance, and reduced power usage compared to the previous 6th generation processors.

It is also equipped with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM which can be upgraded up to 32GB if needed in order to meet your multitasking demands. It features a 256G SSD for instant startup times, fast storage speeds, and reduced loading times compared to HDDs with similar capacities. The Dell XPS 15 9550 also comes in a 512GB SSD variant but it’s worth mentioning that the 256GB model is more than sufficient for most users.

In terms of graphical performance, the GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM handles graphically demanding games effortlessly while also delivering a smooth 1080p gaming experience.

The Dell XPS 15 9550 has a battery life of about 7 hours on a single charge which means that it will last you all day without requiring a recharge. It’s not the best when it comes to laptops with this price tag but it is definitely better than average compared to other notebooks in the same class. It features a powerful cooling system so despite having these specs, the laptop doesn’t overheat or turn off abruptly during heavy usage.

The Dell XPS 15 9550 has a lot of great features which makes it one of the best laptops in its class. Its design is stylish, lightweight, and durable which means that you’re getting both form and function when you choose this model.

It doesn’t have an optical drive but that isn’t much of a loss considering how thin the laptop itself is. The only real downside to this device is that like most other high-end laptops, it can get expensive depending on what configuration your choose, and while some people may see that as a drawback, we think it more than justifies the price tag if you’re looking for a top-quality device with all the bells and whistles.
